Amateur - 7 Man NEPL
Any player that played on an Amateur team during the 2007 NEPL season. Any Intermediate team that finished in the top 4 Intermediate teams for the 2007 season (to further define: any player that appears on a top 4 Intermediate teams roster 3 or more times will be classified an Amateur player) Any player that played on an Intermediate team that placed first in an event or finished top 4 twice or more during the 2007 season. Any player that plays on an Int team that wins 3 events in the 2008 season.Any player that was rostered on 2 or more NPPL or PSP events in the 2007 or 2008 season. Any player that is currently rostered on an AXBL team. Players may be relegated to Amateur status during the season. Amateur Teams cannot roster any D1, Semi Pro or Pro players. Players will be ranked D1, Semi Pro or Pro once they appear on a D1, Semi Pro or Pro Roster in 2008.7 man Rosters are allowed up to 10 players.

Intermediate - 7 Man NEPL
Any player that played on an Intermediate team during the 2007 NEPL season. Any Novice / Rookie team that finished in the top 4 Novice / Rookie teams for the 2007 season(to further define: any player that appears on a top 4 Novice / Rookie teams roster 3 or more times will be classified an Intermediate player) Any player that played on a Novice / Rookie team that placed first in an event or finished top 4 twice or more during the 2007 season. Any player that plays on a Novice team in 2008 and wins three events. Any player that is currently rostered on an MXL team. Any player that is rostered on a D3 roster for no more than 1 NPPL or PSP event during the 2008 season. Players may be relegated to Amateur status during the season. Intermediate may roster 2 Amateur players. 7 man rosters are allowed up to 10 players.

Novice - 5 Man NEPL
Any player that played on an NEPL Rookie or Novice team during the 2007 NEPL season that did NOT otherwise qualify to be ranked as an Intermediate player (please see Intermediate 2008 quailifications). Novice teams may only have the following in NEPL experience: A team / player will be classified as Novice if they played in either the Novice or Rookie division in 2007 and did not win an event, place top 4 twice or more or finish in the top four in either division for the season. Novice teams may roster one Intermediate player. Novice teams will be allowed the following without having their classification changed. They may play in either one PSP D4 event or one MXL event and finish anywhere in the standings. Novice teams may play in the NEPL JR rookie division as long as they do not play ANY PSP / MXL events or finish top 4 in an NEPL 5 man Novice event.  5 man teams are allowed to roster up to 8 players.

Rookie - 3 Man NEPL Jr
Players can be any age to compete in this division.  Players may not have ANY tournament experience aside from NEPL Jr Rookie or 2007 NEPL Rookie (non playoff).  This division is for beginner tournament players that due to age restrictions, may not compete in Beginner.  Players who play in the NEPL Novice 2008 division may compete in the Rookie Jr division unless they make the top 4 in any NEPL event or compete nationally in any event. An NEPL Jr Rookie team may win only 2 Rookie events. After a second win, a Rookie team will be considered a top four novice team and will no longer qualify to play Rookie.

Beginner - 3 Man NEPL Jr
Age restricted division. Players may only be between the ages of 10 and 15 years old to compete (age at time of event). Players that turn 16 during the season will be relegated to Rookie Rank.  Players are not allowed to have any tournament experience aside from NEPL Jr Beginner experience.  Players should have proof of age in order to compete (birth certificates).
